NEW WORLD VANGUARDS
Since 2019, I’ve been a contributor to web3 as an artist and collector, immediately feeling it was my home and finally everything I wanted as a digital collector… unfortunately some shifted their priorities yet we remained with the same focus and want. A good portion of the current culture has devolved into casinos disguised as games, rushed collections, championing influence and pushing narratives that drive us apart instead of celebrating independence, free thought, artistic expression, difference, and our collecting tastes. Sounds a whole lot more complex than what you thought, doesn’t it? Well… it is, but it doesn’t have to be.
Many of us were hopeful that this bright industry was going to usher in a great collector base and erase the starving artist trope, but then the financially driven came in and distracted the few while driving away the genuine. Outside of the (bad) attention, drama and sales, many still don’t care on nurturing echo chambers. Censorship took different forms to dampen voices—artists and projects that weren’t willing to give in or change for hype faded into the dark. Projects that were innovative or about the fun side of collection have had to shut down, and artists still don’t have a sustainable market to earn a living from. This is not what many of us envisioned for something soo progressive and enlightening to then also be reduced to social media algo games and cash grabs from artists. I hope to work towards a stronger community that amplifies the independent creator, founder, and thinker; the collector who wants more than just floor price; and lover of all the geekery the Web3 industry does so well without falling for the pvp games.
The markets quieted, projects faded away and artists tirelessly seeked sustainability, yet another hope was born. The hope of a second home for all those who fell into the rabbit hole and never stopped falling. A belief that welcomes all forms of creators and collectors, empowers free thought, and celebrates ideas that move us forward while still preserving the ethos of decentralization, transparency, and individual sovereignty. This is what I want you to be a part of when I start new world vanguards, because it’s not just about the select few… it’s about all of us.
As I continue to work on this project, I will be looking to include affiliates and partners that make sense, can personally vouch and believe they can add a benefit to the community. One of the first affiliates is San Sound, they create insanely high-quality audio gear and am a HUGE fan of, I am officially an affiliate and will be showcasing their products because I believe in them and providing discounts for those interested. It needs to make sense to the community I’m trying to build and they are one of the first companies I thought of.
With nwv I want to ultimately have a community that values information and serves as bridges, not just alpha hunting or hyping projects. This is about creating chapters that grow together by way of the nwv collecting ethos, gaining knowledge and welcomes those interested in this new world.
